If you wanted to have something other than the bare concrete then you either got some clear coat protectant or you painted it. Today that is no longer the case, as with everything else in the world, people have found ways to “pimp out” their garage floors. Two of the most popular ways that have come around as of late are epoxy coating and garage floor tiles.
When high quality garage floor coatings and paints are used by the installer and dealer, then garage floor coatings comes up with good floor coatings. Garage floor coatings are offered in different chip and floor colors to the customer to come up with new and different levels of garage floor coatings. Today, technology advancements makes possible all garage floor coatings a finite one with different paints. So, more number of people is coming forward to install garage floor coatings for their garage. Therefore, proper care and maintenance should be given for the garage floor coatings installed and any spills try to remove using qualitative cleaners.
My research and experience has shown that there is a better, cleaner, healthier alternative to epoxy coating when it comes to garage floor covering and that is garage floor tile. The best Garage floor tile that I have found in my searching is made by a company out of Salt Lake City, Utah called RaceDeck. Their flooring is designed so that really anyone can just snap them together, almost like the linkin logs of garage flooring. You can buy either 12″x12″ or 18″x18″ these can go down on any concrete surface just as long as it is flat so you don’t have to worry about whether it is sealed or purely cured etc.. Another nice thing about products like RaceDeck is the fact that there are no harmful chemicals that you have to work with and inhale; it’s just a matter of snapping the tiles together.
Garage Floor Painting
Once the garage ground is ready, make a proper mixture of the cement to lay them. Make sure you apply them at all the corner of the garage. All newly prepared garage floors should be allowed to dry completely for sixty days before painting or giving a coating. All unpainted concrete floors need to be acid treated or etched using muratic acid before painting them. If the floor is already painted, the coating has to be sanded down using a sand paper. Once you scrap or sand the painted floor, wash the floor with water and allow it to dry completely. Here are some materials that you need to start painting the garage floor. You need to have garage floor paint or epoxy, brushers and rollers, painter’s tape, extension handle, paint tray and decorative chips; this is only an optional but using chips will make your garage floor look awesome! Try using colored chips like electric blue bend, dusty trail, bright yellow, dark earth tone, light blue, purple, etc., for the floor color choices, use colors like beige, tile red, taupe, slate, charcoal and grey.
Paint the garage floor with the reference of the manufacturer’s directions and tips. Once you have done with painting the floor using a roller, you can give a second coat using the same technique and start applying the chips. Once done, give at least 72 hours for drying and the floor doesn’t need a topcoat.
